I broke the rule
When I was in grade seven, I felt that
I was so lucky because of the opportunity to start a new academic pursuit as a high school student. When our teacher in Navotas National High School told us
the rules and regulations, I thought that I should follow the all of them since
these will make me more disciplined and
eventually help me get good grades in school. One of those rules is to avoid
being late and absent in school. Since I was in the morning class, I have to
sleep early in order to avoid being late in school.
One day I woke up late. Monday is
when we have our flag ceremony. I ate my breakfast, I took a bath and I wear my
uniform. However, I came to school late. Trembling in fear, I and my other
schoolmates were asked by the teacher in charge to write the reasons why we
were late in a ¼ sheet of paper. The teacher warned us not to be late again. I
felt so disappointed to myself because
I belonged in a higher section and being there means that I have to be a model
of discipline and punctuality.
In that situation I realized that following
rules is important to us and I also realize that the
rules are built for our own sake. We should follow rules to give respect to everyone because if we follow rules all
people have a discipline to themselves.
